So, Lindsay had this post Monday about TBR piles. I tried to think of how many were in my own pile, and I came up with a rough estimate of a couple hundred. But, it got me curious, so that night I went home and checked the exact number.
Before I share my TBR number, here's a peek at all of my books (not including my writing reference). Because I'm a listaholic, I keep a spreadsheet of all of my books and I mark them as read as I read them. So I can tell you that the pictures below show the 586 books that I own.
Because I have my TBRs mixed in with all my read books, I can't show you pictures of just my TBRs. But! I can share the number.
My TBR list consists of . . . *insert drumroll here* . . . 339 books!
This means that I buy books more than twice as quickly as I can eat them! Luckily for me, they wait patiently for their turn. ;)
How many of your books are waiting to be read?
Hee hee. Oh I do love seeing bookshelves. Is it wrong to be totally jealous of your awesome TBR pile? lol.
ReplyDeleteI just added two more to my TBR pile: The Mockingbirds and Ghost Town. So I've got 42 now. Looks like I've got some catching up to do. :)
Hahahaha! WOW! Huge list!
ReplyDeleteHoly CROW that is EPIC
ReplyDeleteLindsay - Your list is growing! Better watch out, or soon it might look like mine. :)
ReplyDeleteColene - I. know. Sometimes I think I must be crazy for all the books I buy. haha!
Melissa - I just LOL'd so loudly. My neighbors probably despise me now. ;)
You're my hero. That is SO cool. I need to do a spreadsheet!
ReplyDeleteI have got about 30 odd books in 'to be read' pile, and I thought that was extreme. :) After reading your post, I am happy to order more. My two absolute fav sites to go are obviously bookdepository and amazon. Where do you buy yours from?
ReplyDeleteLove love love seeing other people's bookshelves!!! I'll have to post pics of mine. Well, I have a six page list of books I'm planning on checking out of the library (some day I'll get them all added to my "to-read" section on Goodreads). And of books I recently bought, I still have to read 30. I don't know how I'll ever get to them since I keep buying more and going to the library, so good luck to you with your 300+ books!!! I wish we had more hours in the day just for reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks, L.T.!! That just made my day a little better. :)
ReplyDeleteMarya - I get my books from anywhere and everywhere: I typically try my local independent bookstore first, but after that I'll buy from Amazon, B&N, Boders, Books & Co. I'm also a member of a couple of online book clubs (SFBC and Doubleday) where I order from as well.
Laura - I would love to see pics of yours - I love seeing people's bookshelves, too. :) Thanks, I'll need the luck!! And, I agree! There needs to be extra hours just to read. That would be amazing. :)
I'm in awe at your organisation! I can't believe you keep a spreadsheet. If only I had those skills...
ReplyDeleteHey Talli! The spreadsheet definitely comes in handy. I started it so that I could download it onto my iPod. That way if I see a book in the store I want, I can check and make sure I haven't bought it already if I can't remember. XD
ReplyDeleteWow. That's awesome. I'm lucky if titles make it to goodreads. Me in the bookstore is me with my ipad flipping from goodreads to amazon, back to goodreads, back to amazon...
ReplyDeleteAnd I have an award for you, if ya want it.
Jolene - I'm not quite as diligent with my Goodreads, but I think I still do okay with it. And thanks for the award!! XD
