Up until about a year ago, I always thought I jumped from idea to idea so much because I was just plain indecisive. But then someone told me that it was because I was creative. Me?! Creative?! I thought she'd lost her mind for a moment. Then she went on to explain that creative people jump from project to project, they leave projects unfinished, because they can't focus long enough to finish the project because they're on to the next idea just like that. Talk about describing me perfectly. That's when I accepted the fact that maybe I truly am creative.
I first discovered my love for writing when I wrote my first short story in fourth grade. Throughout my life, I've always practiced writing in one form or another, but writing as a career had just never crossed my mind before. There are still times when I worry that I'll move on from this, too. But I've stuck at it for nearly two years now, and I still feel passionate that a writer is what I'm supposed to be. Maybe I've finally decided what I want to be when I grow up for real.
How about you? When did you decide you wanted to pursue writing as a career?
